NORWALK, Conn. A man was shot Saturday night outside Norwalks American Legion Hall, across the street from Norwalk High School, police said.
Norwalk Police Chief Harry Rilling could not provide details but said he expected the victim to survive. There was one male victim, according to Lt. Paul Vinett, who agreed that the wounds were not life threatening. He could not say how old the victim was because the investigation is fresh, and police were not releasing details.
The shooting at 60 County Road happened just before 8 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. police had blocked off the posts northern parking lot, and at least four police vehicles were parked there as officers surveyed the scene. Evidence included a backpack left on the lawn.
