NORWALK, Conn. Norwalk schools with power will open on a regular schedule Tuesday, according to Norwalk Public Schools website. Mayor Richard Moccia has also sent text messages and calls via the city's automated system requesting that people delay Halloween until Saturday.
The city's website says: "Parents are urged in the strongest possible terms not to let their children Trick or Treat tonight. Keep them inside and plan on a safer night this Saturday."
The website reports that 3,235 Norwalk households were without power as of 11 a.m. Monday, down from more than 6,500 outages Sunday. Residents affected by the outage are invited to use local libraries for warming and phone charging. Connecticut Light & Power anticipates 99 percent of residents will have power restored by Thursday.
