Norwalk Man Shot Multiple Times

A Norwalk man was shot multiple times early Saturday in the area of 168 W. Cedar St. Norwalk police responding to a 3:27 a.m. report of multiple shots fired found the 27-year-old black man lying face down in a parking lot of Colonial Village, next to a parked vehicle. He appeared to have been shot in the head and was bleeding from that area. Police later discovered he had been shot multiple times throughout his body.

The victim was in surgery at Norwalk Hospital as of 11 a.m. Police will not identify the victim pending notification of his family. Lt. T.J. Murphy said there was "no clear motive at this time." There was no information about suspects.

Murphy said violent incidents have occurred in the area in the past, and police have investigated gang and narcotics activities there. In October, a man who had just been released from prison was shot in the arm in the neighborhood.
