Norwalk Man Charged With Assaulting His Ex

A 20-year-old Norwalk man was arrested early Friday on charges of assaulting his former girlfriend and violating a protective order. Bail was set at $200,000 for Ryan Jackson, who listed his address as 17 Freedman St. Police were called to the woman’s Fairfield Avenue apartment by her mother and had to break down the door to get in. Officers said the woman was being restrained by Jackson, who avoided getting Tasered by cooperating.

The 20-year-old victim, the mother of three boys, a baby,  a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old, had sought advice from police on Wednesday after Jackson allegedly came to her residence and got into a fight with her. She told police he slapped her, broke cabinets, put a hole in the wall and said he loved her and didn't want to lose her. She said he threatened to strangle her.

Jackson was charged with unlawful restraint, two counts of criminal violation of protective order, two counts of assault, six counts of injury/risk/impairing morals.
