Norwalk Man Charged in Gunfight

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant stemming from gunfire in South Norwalk on Saturday. Kimani Williams, 19, of 31 Clay St., was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree breach of peace, Lt. Paul Resnick said. He was held on a court set bond of $100,000.

Williams is accused of fighting and brandishing a firearm late Saturday, Resnick said. Resnick offered no details on the shooting incident. Williams has a criminal record of firearms and narcotics convictions.

On Tuesday, Williams was observed walking on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard by a sergeant working an extra-duty assignment. The sergeant radioed another officer who was working an extra-duty job down the street. The two followed Williams onto Madison Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident.
