NORWALK, Conn. A Norwalk man attacked his former girlfriend's new boyfriend late last month, punching him, kicking him and slashing his face, Norwalk Police say. His 2-year-old child was sleeping in the room when the attack began, and her former girlfriend was also injured.
Divenson Petion, 25, of 33 Lovatt St. turned himself in on a warrant and was arrested Monday in the May 26 incident. He was held on $100,000 bond.
Police say Petion knocked on the door of his former girlfriend's apartment at 60 Connecticut Ave. and attacked her 30-year-old boyfriend, slashing the left side of his face so badly he needed surgery at Norwalk Hospital. The 30-year-old woman was cut on her left arm as she tried to break it up. There were three children upstairs in addition to the toddler in the room.
Petion was charged with assault first degree, assault second degree and injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor.

Norwalk police have a tally from their latest Click It or Ticket seatbelt enforcement effort: there were 54 citations were issued for seatbelt infractions, 10 citations issued for cell phone use and 12 verbal warnings for other violations, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. There was also a marijuana arrest made.
The Click It or Ticket enforcement was done over the last two weeks, with three checkpoints in Norwalk. It was made possible by a federal grant.
