Dr. William DeAngelo, who lives in Brookfield, administered the high-intensity electric shocks as a punishment for bad-mouthing other staff members at the Neuro-Spinal Center Of Connecticut, the Post said.
The incident occurred in an examination room July 29 in the Stratford office, with an electric stimulation machine, as DeAngelo sought to teach her a lesson, police told the Post.
The victim was treated at Bridgeport Hospital for muscle strains in her back and contacted police, the Post said.
The website of the Neuro-Spinal Center Of Connecticut identifies Dr. William C. DeAngelo as the clinical director and a chiropractic physician for the firm, which has offices in Stratford, Milford, Norwalk and West Haven. He lives in Brookfield.
DeAngelo began his career in medicine as a respiratory therapist, graduating from Quinnipac College in 1975, the website says. He enrolled at the National College of Chiropractic, graduating in 1989. He opened the Neuro-Spinal Center's first office in Milford in 1991.
