The earthquake, estimated at magnitude 7.8, killed more than 650 people, injured over 16,000 and left tens of thousands of Ecuadoreans homeless.

The collection drive, which began last week, runs through Friday. There will be collection boxes in the East Atrium and near the main entrance of West Campus.

The items most needed include water filters, canned food, dried food, sleeping bags, hygienic kits, portable lamps (LED or rechargeable), batteries and cookware. Light clothing for tropics (new or lightly worn) is also being accepted.
