Norwalk Begins Bulky Item Curbside Pickup On Saturday

NORWALK, Conn. -- The city of Norwalk will pickup "bulky items" from residential curbsides beginning Saturday, Oct. 18.

Residents are advised to have larger items on the curbside by 7 a.m. of their scheduled day. 

The bulky item pick up schedule is as follows:

  • Residents with Monday garbage collection: Saturday, Oct. 18
  • Residents with Tuesday garbage collection: Saturday, Oct. 25
  • Residents with Wednesday garbage collection: Saturday, Nov. 1

Residents with Thursday and Friday garbage collection will have bulky item collection days in April 2015. 

Bulky items include mattresses, furniture, rolled rugs/carpets (no more than four feet wide), metal items, electronics, lumber (cut into pieces no more than four feet), large toys and household appliances and furnishings.

Items such as hazardous waste, tires, construction debris and yard waste will not be accepted. 

Residents are reminded to keep items for collection away from mailboxes and utility poles.
