The Planning and Zoning Commission has approved plans for a new CVS pharmacy at the southern side of the intersection of Scribner and Connecticut Avenues. According to city documents, Scribner Corners Partnership will demolish the existing buildings -- a strip mall, a stand-alone liquor store and a retail fish store -- to build the new two-story building with 24,010 square feet of retail space.
The CVS will feature a drive-up pharmacy window with two lanes. Two entrances will serve the site, one on Connecticut Avenue and one on Scribner Avenue. Roadway improvements on Scribner Avenue will include two traffic lanes and a turning lane into the project. The bus stop on Connecticut Avenue will be moved northeast, away from the store's entrance.
