Five newly planted bushes were reported stolen from a Norwalk Roman Catholic church in the midst of Holy Week. The theft of the juniper bushes from St. Matthew's Church , 216 Scribner Ave., was reported early Wednesday. Norwalk Police Sgt. James Walsh speculated that landscapers probably took the bushes, worth $30 each.
Walsh said newly planted landscaping was stolen last spring from St. Jerome's Church , 23 Half Mile Road, and from private homes.

A Norwalk resident reported Wednesday evening that his condo had been burglarized after he had gone away for the weekend and left the back door unlocked. Thieves rifled through the Stuart Avenue residence and took cash, an Apple iMac and a television/computer combination.
