NORWALK, Conn. A naked man found sitting in the back of a parked car Sunday night could not explain why he was there, Norwalk Police say. When he refused to comply with police demands, he was Tasered and arrested.
Police were called to 19 Muller Ave. at 11:29 p.m. for a report of two people arguing, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. They found a Chevy parked in a driveway with the front door open, the engine running. One person was in the car Keon Beatty, 24, of 34 Raymond Ave., who was naked in the back seat.
It was 34 degrees, and there was a slight breeze. Beatty starting putting on his pants and T-shirt when he saw police, Cotto said, but he refused to unlock the back door. His eyes were glazed, and he would not show his hands and he had a black object in his left hand, police said. He held the item still to his body and would not show the officer what it was. He was subsequently Tasered.
It turned out to be a cellphone charger. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital to be treated for the Taser. Asked why he was in a car naked, he could not say, Cotto said. He could not say who the car belonged to or who was driving.
The registration on the car did not match the address of the location. Police knocked on the door, but no one answered. The car was towed.
Beatty was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an officer and simple trespass. Bond was set at $25,000.
