Ledell Mulvaney, 61, and her daughter Katherine Mulvaney, 31, were killed Saturday in a four-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway. An SUV driven by 33 year-old Nerim Sinanovic was traveling northbound when it hit a median and became airborne and crashed into the southbound lanes, according to New York State Police. Also killed in the accident was 2 year-old Leona Sinanovic, and eight other people were injured, including Don Mulvaney, Ledell's husband and Katherine's father.

The Ledell family formerly lived in Norwalk and were all graduates of Norwalk High School. They were active in the First Congregational Church of Norwalk, and continued to visit after moving to Brooklyn six years ago, according to the Hour.

A vigil was held at the church Monday night in their honor, which dozens attended, the Hour reported.

Ledell was a performing arts program director at the International School of Brooklyn. In a spotlight posted to the school's website, she spoke about her lifelong love of music. She attended the Berklee School of Music, and was a singer and played several instruments. She was also passionate about civil rights issues.

Katherine was also a graduate of the Berklee School of Music. She was a singer-songwriter and recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new album. She was also passionate about civil rights issues.

The Mulvaney's son, Devan, posted an update to Facebook Monday on his father's condition.

"Hello friends and family, thank you for all of your outreach of love and support during this difficult time. My Dad is stable and is being monitored closely by the best care possible," Devan wrote of his father, who is also a drummer and pianist. "Please keep him and my family in your thoughts and prayers. I love you all very much! Will let everyone know about the funeral arrangements when everything is settled. God bless!"

A CaringBridge site has been set up to provide updates on Don's condition, and a GoFundMe page was started to support the family during his recovery.

Ledell and Don led the God Show conference at the Silver Lake Conference Center for many years. God Show is a summer program for high school students where they create original music, lyrics and worship material. The family was on its way back from a final conference Saturday when they got in the accident.

Silver Lake Executive Director Tim Hughes said he, his wife Anne and other friends were with Devan Monday.

"Anne and I, Valerie Tutson, Whendi Cook Broderick, and Grant Geiling were with Devan and his family last night and we prayed and sang over and with Don, and told him he was surrounded in the love of the whole Silver Lake community of faith," Hughes wrote in a letter. "Please keep them all, as well as the whole Silver Lake and UCC community, in your prayers at this time of tragedy and loss."

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
