UPDATE 7:19 p.m.: Metro-North reports the problem has been fixed.
Reports that Metro-North had fixed its malfunctioning ticket machines Saturday appear to have been premature. Metro-North announced Sunday afternoon that ticket machines at all stations were not accepting credit or debit cards for ticket purchases due to a problem with its communications provider. Riders need cash to purchase tickets.
The problem first surfaced on New Year's Eve. It was reported to be fixed Saturday.
