Person-to Person is a nonprofit emergency assistance organization that serves as a safety net for low-income residents. It helps those who are in need of food and provides financial assistance to households in the form of rent, security deposits and utility payments.
The Norwalk Senior Center is a nonprofit adult activity center that promotes healthy aging and life-long learning for seniors 60+ years of age in the greater Norwalk area. Some of the programs and services include meals on wheels, daily lunch, evidence-based exercise and transportation. All programs are designed to promote dignity and independence throughout the aging process. The Mayor’s Ball, established as a non-profit charitable institution, is held each January to benefit local charities.
The 2015 Mayor’s Ball will be held on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Continental Manor in Norwalk. Tickets are $95 per person. Tables of ten can also be reserved.
Call Maritza Alvarado at 203-854-7950 no later than Friday, Jan. 16. to make reservations. Donations of silent auction items produce the major portion of the Mayor’s Ball proceeds, and can be made by calling Sally Johnson, executive assistant to the mayor, at 203-854-7707. Tax-deductible contributions to the Mayor’s Ball can be made at any time.
