Thirty-one plow trucks were deployed for street clearing, and fire, police and public works crews were at the ready to respond to storm-related needs.
City Hall and the Norwalk and South Norwalk libraries will close at noon Friday. The decision to close schools was announced early Friday.
Residents are asked to move cars from public roads to facilitate plowing, and the city released a list of streets where this is mandatory. If cars block plowing efforts, they may be ticketed or towed. All public parking lots and garages are open – free of charge – for temporary parking until the snow emergency is lifted.
Any downed wires or power outages should be reported directly to Connecticut Light & Power at CL-P.com or 800-286-2000.
