Joyce Liptack, Loved Reading, Crosswords

Joyce E. Liptack, a Norwalk resident since 1953, died Tuesday at Ridgefield Crossings. She was 81.

Liptack was a 1947 graduate of Cranford High School in Cranford, N.J., who enjoyed reading, crosswords, bowling and working on genealogy.

She was the wife of the late Leslie J. Liptack. She was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Rahway, N.J., to Harry and Mabel Jahn Urmston.

Survivors include three sons, James Liptack of Ridgefield, Glenn Liptack of Phoenix and Gary Liptack of Trumbull; four grandchildren, Peter, Aaron, Kristine and Stephanie; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810.
