Josephine "Josie" Rose Forlivio Cossuto, who worked most recently as a crossing guard for the Norwalk schools, died Sunday. She was 81.
Cossuto worked her entire life in the Norwalk area. She was born to Ottavio and Adeline Franco Forlivio on Dec. 9, 1928, in New Canaan.
She is survived by daughter, Karen Cossuto Fraser and husband Christopher of Fort Worth; son Thomas Paul Cossuto and wife Maeve of Alpharetta, Ga.; siblings Helen McConnell, Angelina Nicastro, Mary Monaco and Louise Thompson; six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by siblings Ottavio Forlivio, James Forlivio, John Forlivio, Paula "Polly" Nicastro, Margaret "Maggie" Nicastro and Frances Russo.
Calling hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road. For information or to sign online guestbook, go to the Magner Funeral Home website .
