A $2 discount is being offered by the Norwalk Parking Authority at on-street parking meters or lot pay stations when using its mobile app.

Shoppers need to use the Parkmobile app, and the promo code "Norwalk Rocks." The offer is valid from Dec. 1-31 for one-time use only.

“The Parking Authority wants to encourage people to come down to Norwalk’s urban areas to shop, dine and enjoy themselves during the holiday season,” says Authority Chairman Dick Brescia. “Shopping in December can be stressful. Our hope is to make our customers’ parking experience less so by offering them a simple, seamless way to pay for parking – with the added bonus of savings.”

The free smartphone app by Parkmobile USA, Inc. is intended to save time and provide a convenience to parkers. The app is created to be easy to use and notifies users 15 minutes before their parking time is ending, allowing time to remotely add parking allotment without running back to their vehicles.

Parkers can download the app via most smartphones app stores or at the Parkmobile USA website.
