The Flash Flood Watch is in effect from noon Monday through late Tuesday night.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will roll across the region Monday and Tuesday ahead of a cold front. The collision of this cold front with the warm, humid air in place will create an environment for torrential downpours and severe thunderstorms, the weather service said.

Storms are expected to roll through the area after 1 p.m. and could bring gusty winds and heavy rains. The high temperature is expected to be about 80 degrees with a 70 percent chance of rain.

Impacts from this round of rain are expected to be  localized flooding in urban and low-lying areas as well as areas with poor drainage. Small streams and rivers may also reach flood levels.

Residents are advised to keep an eye on conditions and be prepared to take action if flooding does occur.

More storms are expected to threaten the area again on Tuesday with highs in the low 80s with an 80 percent chance of precipitation.

Residents are reminded to be mindful of the forecast and be prepared to take action should flooding occur.

Wednesday will begin cloudy but skies will clear in the afternoon with a high temperature near 80.

Thursday and Friday are expected to be sunny with temperatures in the high 70s to close out the week.
