Hearing Set on Norwalk Intersection Work

NORWALK, Conn. – Improvements at the intersection of Strawberry Hill Avenue and Tierney Street will be the topic of an informational meeting Sept. 14 at City Hall.

A realignment is planned for the intersection, with new crosswalks and sidewalk improvements, a new traffic signal and traffic signal interconnectivity.

The project is slated for construction under the Safe Routes to Schools program administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Based on a preliminary assessment, the project will cost approximately $650,000. The Federal Highway Administration will provide $368,000 of the construction cost and the city will provide the remainder.

Public input is requested. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Community Room at City Hall, located at 125 East Ave. For more information or to provide input, call Mike Yeosock, senior engineer, at (203) 854-7844.
