A meeting planned for Thursday to discuss redrawing congressional and state Senate and House districts has been rescheduled, due to the emergency special session called that same day by Gov. Dannel Malloy.
The first of six public hearings of the General Assembly's Reapportionment Committee will instead be held Monday, July 18, at a location to be determined.
In a joint statement, committee co-chairs Sen. Don Williams (D-Brooklyn) and Rep. Larry Cafero (R-Norwalk) said:
"Given Thursday's special session, we believe that the prudent course of action is to reschedule the Reapportionment Committee's fourth congressional district public hearing. This will ensure the citizens of southwestern Connecticut are given a full and fair opportunity to add their voices to this important process, regardless of what transpires during Thursday's session."
