Oscar Hernandez, 39, was arrested in Pennsylvania Friday after a crash following a police pursuit. Hernandez had been the subject of a manhunt after Nidia Gonzalez, the 26-year-old mother of Hernandez's daughter, was found dead at her Greenwood Avenue home in Bridgeport. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, police said.

Police quickly discovered that the couple's daughter, Aylin Sofia Hernandez, was missing and issued a multi-state Amber Alert. His car was spotted near State College, Pa. and police engaged in a pursuit, which eventually ended in a crash and Hernandez's arrest.
Hernandez was brought to court in Bellefonte, Pa. for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, where he is facing multiple charges, including fleeing, attempting to elude a police officer, endangering the welfare of a child, and recklessly endangering another person, according to Centre Daily Times. The hearing was delayed due to the lack of a certified interpreter, the Centre Daily Times reported.
Hernandez had been deported to his native El Salvador in 2013 after an assault conviction after being convicted of assaulting a former girlfriend in Stamford, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He had prior felony convictions, and was removed from the United States by ICE officers on Nov. 27, 2013. It is unclear when or how Hernandez returned to the United States.
The family of Nidia Gonzalez has started a GoFundMe to try and raise money to bring her body back home to Guatemala. Bridgeport Police Chief Armando Perez has also pledged that the department will do whatever it can to help the couple's daughter.
