Greenwich Residents Fill Forbes Richest List

GREENWICH, Conn. - Hedge fund executive and Greenwich resident Ray Dalio is the richest person in Connecticut and No. 33 in the United States, according to Forbes' list of the 400 wealthiest Americans.

Forbes says Dalio, who heads Westport-based Bridgewater Associates, is worth $10 billion. Another Greenwich resident, Steve Cohen, who founded SAC Capital Advisers, is second richest in Connecticut and 40th in the country, with a net worth of around $8 billion.

Other Greenwich residents on the list include billionaires Thomas Peterffy (77), Paul Tudor Jones II (108), Stephen Mandel Jr. (360), C. Dean Metropoulos (360), Mario Gabelli (392) and William Macauly (392). 

The top five richest people in America are Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Larry Ellison and Charles and David Koch, according to Forbes.

Can you imagine the billions more they could make if they patented their secret formulas for success and sold them to debt-strapped governments, not to mention those struggling to remain viable in the private sector.
