NORWALK, Conn. The 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Fox Run School may have been small and simple, but that didn't mean it was any less meaningful. On a bright morning quite similar to that fateful day a decade ago, students, most of whom had not even been born 10 years ago, gathered to remember and reflect.
The students assembled in front of the school and heard representatives from local, state and national government give brief remarks, but perhaps the most heartfelt speech was the shortest. It was given by Fox Run alumnus Jason Dick, who served in the Army in Iraq and spoke of the sacrifices and heroism performed on 9/11 and in the decade since.
As the students dispersed and returned to their classrooms, they left with a greater appreciation of what happened a decade ago, both the terrible tragedy and shining heroism.
