Flash Freezing Possible Later Monday In Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Snow and freezing rain will continue to fall throughout Fairfield County on Monday, creating treacherous travel conditions. And as the temperature drops into the single digits in the evening, flash freezing could become a problem.

Snow mixed with freezing rain and sleet will fall through 4 p.m. Monday. Daytime accumulations could reach up to a half-inch of ice. There could also be an additional 3 to 5 inches of snow as well across Fairfield County, according to the National Weather Service. 

Precipitation will exit the area in the evening and leave bitter cold in its wake, with lows of about 8 degrees and wind chills expected to be well below zero. 

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, but temperatures will rebound only into the low 20s. 

Snow showers could threaten the area again Wednesday after 10 a.m. High temperatures are expected to be reac about 34 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. 

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 27 degrees with a small chance of a lingering snow shower in the morning. 

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high in the low 20s.
