Eugene A. Parlanti of Norwalk died Thursday, Jan. 13, at Notre Dame Convalescent Home. He was 80 years old. Parlanti was born in Winton, Pa. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was retired from the Perkin-Elmer Corp., where he worked as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed events at St. Ann's Club, Penn State football and family gatherings and went to all of his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid reader and an advocate for all youth sports.
Parlanti was predeceased by his wife, Angelina DiMeglio Parlanti. He is survived by three children, Gina Marie Oman and her husband, Timothy, of Norwalk, James A. Parlanti and his fiancé, Lise Louden, of Milford and Joseph A. Parlanti and his wife, Toni Marie, of Norwalk; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in East Norwalk. Entombment with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery.
