Elsie Rosario, who worked at Norwalk Hospital for nearly 30 years, died Saturday at Yale-New Haven Hospital, seven weeks shy of her 55th birthday. The breast cancer survivor supported the Norwalk Hospital Cancer Walks. She "brought joy and laughter to everyone she knew," according to her daughter, Vanessa Rosario, who said her mother was her best friend.
Rosario was raised in Puerto Rico. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her mother Jovita Rivera; her brother William Rodriguez; her son-in-law Jason Weller; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday. Additional services will be held in Puerto Rico.
In lieu of flowers, to help offset any financial burden, contributions can be made directly to the family. Contact the Hoyt Cognetta Funeral Home for information at 203-847-7291.
