- A 68-year-old woman dies after being hit and pinned by her own car in a parking lot on Connecticut Avenue, The case still is being investigated.
- A 5-year-old Yonkers boy faces multiple surgeries after his grandmother's pit bull attacked him and bit off his genitals.
- The 20-year-old gunman who killed 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School acted alone, according to a report released by the state of Connecticut following its 11-month investigation.
- Yale University issued an alert to its New Haven campus, warning staff and students to shelter in place after a man with a gun was spotted on campus. The alert later was lifted after a search for the gunman turns up empty .
