Danbury Branch Trains Launch Program To Pay Onboard By Credit Card

DANBURY, Conn. -- Customers traveling on the Danbury Branch of Metro-North will be able to use their credit cards to purchase tickets onboard trains as part of a limited pilot program to test new Ticket Issuing Machines(TIMs).

The onboard credit card payments will begin on Monday, Oct. 27, Metro-North said.

Ticket purchases may be made using any major credit card or you may use your debit card as a credit card.  Conductors will also be able to print out customer receipts from their upgraded TIMs.

This new customer convenience is being tested on the Danbury and Wassaic branch lines before being expanded to all lines.

During this test period, the new TIMs may be in use for credit card purchases on a limited number of additional trains on other lines. Customers should listen for train announcements.

Metro-North reminds customers that purchasing tickets on board the train is always the most expensive option.
