Damage From Irene Piles Up in Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn.—Fallen trees from Tropical Storm Irene covered fences and streets in Norwalk by midday Sunday. According to the National Weather Service , tropical storm conditions will continue through the rest of the day, with hurricane conditions possible. Storms may produce heavy rainfall with winds of 35 to 45 mph possible with gusts as high as 55 mph. Sunday night, winds will decrease to 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. The rain is expected to clear before 8 p.m.
