In addition, Connecticut also has the largest income disparity, with the top 1 percent earning 51 times the average salary of a run-of-the-mill 99 percenter.

Here's how much you would have to earn to be in the top 1 percent in Connecticut's neighboring states:
- New Jersey: $539,000
- Massachusetts: $532,000
- New York: $506,000
- Rhode Island: $315,000
