Coastal Flood Advisory Issued For Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - With the forecast calling for widespread minor flooding along Long Island Sound in lower Fairfield County, a coastal flood advisory has been issued for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

High tides could run 2 to 3 feet above astronomical tides, with breaking waves of 2 to 4 feet possible, the weather service said.

Flooding is likely along low-lying areas and along vulnerable shore roads and in basements at the height of the storm tide, the weather service said.

Rain is expected to fall all day Wednesday, the weather service said, with patchy morning fog and high temperatures in the mid-40s with gusting winds.
