NORWALK, Conn. – Connecticut Light & Power has restored power to more than 2,400 households in Norwalk that had suffered outages during Hurricane Sandy as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Roughly 52 percent of CL&P’s customers in the city remain without power, or about 15,497. But that number is down from 17,910 that were without power as of 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Norwalk police have reported hundreds of downed trees and branches throughout the city, which Norwalk Public Works and CL&P crews are working to clear.
Information on the number of customers from South Norwalk Electric and Water and the Third Taxing District, Norwalk’s other two power utilities, was not immediately available.
