A car and train collided at about 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Perry Avenue intersection with the Danbury branch of Metro-North Railroad. No one was seriously injured in the Norwalk crash.
A person at the accident scene, who declined to give his name, said the driver of the car saw the crossing gate coming down at the intersection and had tried to stop, but the car slid into the train because the road was icy.
Emergency personnel on the scene declined to comment. No further details were available on the accident or on the train service.
