A burglar took a safe from a Loundsbury Avenue home Wednesday but left a flat-screen television, a Nintendo Wii system and jewelry.
The resident was gone from 6 to 9 p.m. When she came home, she found the back door had been broken into and there was wood and glass on the floor, Norwalk police said.
The safe was a 2-pound box, secured with a lock. It contained her personal papers and what she said was "a lot of cash."
The victim said her ex-boyfriend helped her hide the safe and owes her money. The police investigation was continuing.

A woman shopping at the Home Depot had her wallet stolen in the parking lot, police said. She had left her purse in the shopping cart while she was loading her purchases into her car.
Police asked store security to review its video surveillance tapes to see whether the theft was recorded.
