The 5-foot-long snake was adopted by a Norwalk man, according to the Darien Animal Control Office. Familiar with snakes, the new owner said that if the previous owner comes forward, he would be happy to return the snake, said the Darien Times.

Animal officials said the snake appeared to be a pet: It was not malnourished or dehydrated when found and it was used to being handled, added the Darien Times.
