GREENWICH, Conn. The sale of Point of View, a palatial property, broke the 2004 record for highest priced residential sale recorded in the town of Greenwich with a whopping sale price of $39.5 million.
Tamar Lurie, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerages top broker, sold the home. The July 1 sale also broke the record for the highest price of a waterfront property in town, according to statistics from the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service.
My buyer identified the unique opportunity of owning a truly magnificent waterfront estate and seized the moment, Lurie said of the sale.
Point of View is the century-old Long Island Sound compound once owned by the late Norman and Suzanne Hascoe. It is set on more than 4 acres with 340 feet of waterfront land. It also includes a 20,777-square-foot main house with an atrium-style entry hall, a ballroom with a mosaic floor that lowers to transform into an indoor pool, a dock and a carriage house.
