22-Year Old Dies After Suffering Burns In Norwalk House Fire

NORWALK, Conn. – A 22-year-old man has died after suffering severe burns from a house fire in Norwalk this past weekend, officials confirmed.

Michael Ness died Tuesday as one of four people inside the home at 33 Pettom Road at the time of the fire.

On Monday, officials reported two men in their 20s were in critical condition after being rescued from inside the home. They were taken to the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital.

The other two people had managed to escape the house by jumping out of the window, officials said.

The fire was reported at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The cause of the fire still is being investigated by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s office.

Ness graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 2009, according to The Hour.  He is also a former student of the University of Denver, having attended school there from 2010 to 2012, according to university officials.
