NORWALK, Conn. -- The South Norwalk Brach Library is set to celebrate Carnaval, host a book discussion and teach yoga on Saturdays.

The library's Carnaval celebration titled "¡Fiesta! Celebrate Hispanic Holidays and Cultures!" begins at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 15. This family program will take place in Spanish and English. Registration for the free event is required; call 203-899-2790, ext. 15903.

"Celebrate Carnaval with different games, a beauty pageant and music. Learn about where Carnaival takes place and its history," representatives said. "Children will create colorful, Carnaval masks and wear them in a conga line down to the children's department where they will participate in a special scavenger hunt."

The library's Book & A Movie will be "Pavilion of Women" at noon Saturday, March 15.

"Book & A Movie celebrates National Women's History Month with a discussion of "Pavilion of Women," a story by Pulitzer Prize winning author Pearl S. Buck, about Madame Wu, who, on her 40th birthday, tells her husband that she will no longer sleep with him and will find a country girl to replace her in intimacy," representatives said. "Madame Wu relishes her independence, reading forbidden books despite the uproar her decision causes, until her son's English tutor, a free-thinking priest, changes her life."

The movie, starring Willem Dafoe, will follow the book discussion. Registration for the free event is required;  call 203-899-2790, ext. 15902.

Yoga with Mark Covello is set for 9 a.m. on Saturdays at the library. Covello will teach Kundalini Yoga, "a Yoga science that combines the energy of the glandular and nervous systems, as well as Combo Yoga, which is a combination of Hatha Yoga and the powerful practice of Kundalini designed to get inner energies flowing," representatives said. Registration for the free event is required; call 203-899-2790, ext. 15902.

The library will also host a workshop for kids on drawing superheroes at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22. Teens and tweens ages 11 and up will learn how to draw superheroes from artist Paul Merklein. Merklein is a professional artist and former illustrator for The New York Times. Registration for the free event is required;  call 203-899-2790, ext. 15902.
