View Award-Winning Paintings Of Local Places At Exhibit By Norwalk Artist

NORWALK, Conn. -- Stan Pastore, an award-winning Norwalk artist, is exhibiting a collection of his watercolor paintings, many depicting local landscapes, at Brendan’s 101 in Rowayton until Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Pastore, who has been honored with numerous awards for his work, won Best in Show in 2014 at the Darien Arts Center’s Darien Art Show and Sale with his watercolor painting, "Old Yella."

He also won Best in Show at the DAC in 2006. He has received awards at the Carriage Barn in New Canaan and multiple first-place awards at the Rowayton Art Center.

Pastore has exhibited artwork at the Greenwich Art Society, the Silvermine Guild, the Darien Library and the Agin Art Gallery on Cape Cod.

The artist's work has been featured in private shows at the Whittingham Pavilion at Norwalk Hospital and at Sterling Glen and Atria in Darien.

Pastore retired after 45 years of working in corporate, residential and architectural design and segued into the world of watercolor painting.

He credits his travels in the United States and abroad with igniting his enthusiasm for the medium and allowing him to embrace techniques employed by many acknowledged watercolor artists, according to a press release.

Many of Pastore's beautiful watercolors are of Norwalk/Rowayton locations, the release said.

Pastore currently resides in Norwalk and accepts commissions for residential and marine portraits.
