The musical by Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire continues this week.

The story examines how parents-to- be experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, as well as the desperate lows and comic highs that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby.

Three couples work their way toward parenthood under three very different circumstances: college students, barely at the beginning of their adult lives; thirty-somethings, having trouble conceiving but determined to try; and middle-age parents, looking forward to seeing their last child graduate from college when a night of unexpected passion lands them back where they started.

Shubeck, who plays one of the college students, acted throughout his own college years at the University of Scranton. He earned the nomination of Outstanding Actor in a Musical in the 2016 On Stage Critic Awards for his role in "You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown" with DAC Stage. "Charlie Brown" also garnered nominations for Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Cast in a Musical.

Soderquist plays a nurse in "Baby," in addition to being part of the ensemble and performing the task of stage manager. She studied theater at the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven, and is currently pursuing a degree in graphic design at Norwalk Community College.

Elliott has performed in opera, musical theater and as a solo performer. She is a private singing and acting teacher in New York City, Fairfield County and is on the music faculty of the Darien Arts Center.

Also cast in the production are Peter Green, Jeffrey Aldana, , Hilary Webster, Danielle A. Valdes and Lisa Spielman. Ensemble roles also include Jonathan Hall, Julie Thaxter-Gourlay, Beth Brandon, Michele Salustri and Juan Londoño.

"Baby" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Performances are on April 28, 29 and May 5 and 6 at 8 p.m., and April 30 at 2 p.m. in the DAC Weatherstone Studio at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Darien Town Hall.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students at darienarts.org. For more information, call the DAC at (203) 655-8683.
