It was for these kitesurfers who were zipping along the shoreline at Stratford’s Long Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

With temperatures climbing into the 50s under sunny skies, several surfers suited up and jumped right in, braving water temperatures that were closer to 40 degrees.

Others decided to lunch al fresco along the Lordship seawall or take a moment to share a snack with the seagulls.

And just think -- it's supposed to drop down into the 20s over the weekend. Oh, and it might snow in Fairfield County, too.
