John Foster had numbers on his mind Thursday morning at a news conference announcing a countdown to the grand reopening of the Stepping Stones Museum for Children. "The magic number is 23 days until we reopen on the 20th," said Foster, board chairman. "We think you're going to be amazed. The theme of the day is get ready, be prepared to be amazed."
Museum staff members and representatives of GE Capital and Moffly Media joined Mayor Richard Moccia at the conference called to draw attention to the Nov. 20 reopening of the museum after its renovation and 22,000-square-foot expansion.
Moccia called it the "best children's museum in the country" and predicted that attendance would double or triple. "While we think about the benefits to the children, it is a benefit to the city to have hundreds of thousands of people to come in to visit Stepping Stones," he said.
