The Center is also looking for volunteers to assist in fundraising events in lower Fairfield County. The Center serves Darien, Greenwich, Norwalk, New Canaan, Stamford, Westport, Weston and Wilton.

The Summer Training Program to become a Certified Sexual Assault Crisis Advocate Volunteers on The Center's 24-Hour Hotline begins on Tuesday, June 17, at The Center’s office at 733 Summer St. in Stamford. The 35-hour training program runs for about eight weeks.

"On the hotline, volunteer advocates give basic crisis intervention as well as information and resources to callers, and may also get calls to support and advocate for victims at local hospitals and police stations," representatives said.

A screening interview is the first step for all interested candidates. Additionally, The Center is planning its Special Events to raise funds for fiscal 2014/2015 and needs volunteers to serve on committees, as well as help staff the events.

Interested volunteers should call Coral at The Center at 203-348-9346.
