NORWALK, Conn. A clever idea spread on Water Street on Saturday morning plywood barriers supported by sandbags. Juan Uribe of Bridgeport and his DVJ Landscaping crew blocked the door at the SoNo Athletic Club with the barrier. And then they were asked to do the same at the Lillian August warehouse next door. "She gets flooded," Uribe said of the woman at the warehouse.
Uribe said the crew does cleanup work at SoNo Athletic Club.
Another South Norwalk business took precautions against the unusually high tide that has been predicted. Petro Heating and Air Conditioning Services had sandbags piled against its door on Day Street. An area resident said you can always tell when a bad high tide is coming because the sandbags are there.
