According to its website, the farmers market opened May 27 for the season, and has been open every Wednesday since, rain or shine.

Vendors sell everything from fresh produce and homemade jams to organic dog food and shrubbery. There are even guest musicians every week, and a lineup available here.

“We sell a lot of things here, and we see a lot of people,” said Ron Pinto, creator of Winding Drive Artisan Jams. “You meet the most interesting people in our business. One woman in particular visits every week and always comes up with new suggestions for jams.”

All vendors at the market, including Pinto, are united by their exuberance and love of their jobs. Just as Pinto spoke so highly of his award-winning jams, Tyler Holder was more than happy to speak on behalf of The Sono Baking Co. & Cafe, which sells artisan breads and other baked goods.

“All our breads are made with natural and local ingredients,” he said. “We have a few shops and cafes in this area, but I really like working outside.”

Holder agreed with Pinto, saying that it was refreshing to work under the summer sun instead of behind closed doors in a kitchen or café.

The market itself is filled with so much variety, ranging from products sold to people attending. Each person contributes to the blissful environment.

“One lady always brings her dog because he loves my dog food so much. She leaveshim in the car, but I always go to see him and spend some time with him,” said Paul Gallant, creator of Paul’s Custom Pet Food. “My favorite part about working here is definitely interaction with the people I deal with. The people who come every week are pretty special.”
