Ronald Verdi, 74, Former Norwalk Research Chemist

NORWALK, Conn. – Ronald F. Verdi, formerly of Norwalk, died at his home in Fredericksburg, Va., April 18. He was 74.

Born Feb. 5, 1938 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Chester and Emma Davis Verdi. A Norwalk resident for most of his life, Verdi worked as a research chemist with Con Air Corporation of Stamford. He retired in 2007 and continued to consult with the company until 2009, when he retired to Virginia.

Verdi was married to Hilda Robsinson Verdi. An avid reader, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda; a son, Adam Verdi, of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Joanne Verdi LaBatt, of Tallahassee, Fla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at Collins Funeral Home . Services will follow at noon at the funeral home with burial at Riverside Cemetery.
