NORWALK, Conn. - Carlos A. Rivera, 76, of Norwalk, died March 18 in Springfield, Mass.
Rivera was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to the late Felix and Ricarda Santiago Rivera. He was a retired supervisor for Dooney & Bourke. Rivera is remembered by family and friends for his heart and generosity. He was an avid New York Mets fan.
Rivera was predeceased by his wife, Ramonita Rivera, in 1994. Survivors include his daughters, Lizzette Perez of Chicago, Ill., Carmen E. Rivera of Puerto Rico and Jessica Rivera of Norwalk; his sons, Carlos J. Rivera of Puerto Rico, Jose Rivera of Pennsylvania and Carlos A. Rivera of Norwalk; his brothers, Adolfo Rivera of New Jersey and Asbel Rivera of Maine; his sisters, Celia Cruzsantiago and Luz E. Fernandez, both of Puerto Rico; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory in Norwalk. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Norwalk.
