Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia, state Sen. Bob Duff and state Rep. Chris Perone attended Saturday's Matthew Zucker Memorial Ergathon at the Norwalk River Rowing Association. The event raised money for scholarship programs at the association, which provides low-income children with an opportunity to learn the sport of rowing.
Norwalk River Rowing Association members and community supporters rowed 1.5 million meters on ergometers, or rowing machines, and collected pledges to donate to the its programs. Saturday's fundraiser was the 12th annual event. It is named after a young rower who died after a courageous bout with brain cancer.
